The payer is indicating that they only accept auto accident claims. Your claim went out to them without Box 10 B on the CMS-1500 HCFA marked as Yes.
How to Fix in Therabill
Click the edit icon next to the client. On the edit client form, go to the Advanced area by clicking the Advanced button at the bottom of the form. There are 3 things you should enter in the advanced tab for an auto accident claim.
- At the bottom left, mark Yes next to Is the patients condition related to: Auto Accident
- To the right of the auto accident indicator, enter the 2 letter state abbreviation of the state that the auto accident occurred in.
- At the right of the advanced information, enter in the Accident Date.
Remember to save the client before you close the edit client form. You can then resubmit your claim.
From the error page
You can reach the edit client form directly from the error page. At the right of the error page, you will see the client's name. Next to the clients name, you will see the edit icon. Click that edit icon to open up the edit client form.
You can resubmit the claim directly from the error page. At the top of the error page, you will see a series of buttons. One of the buttons is labeled Resubmit Electronically. Click that button to resubmit the claim electronically.
