This message is not a rejection message. This message means that Availity (the clearinghouse) sent your claim to the payer but never ended up receiving an acknowledgement from the payer that they received it.
There are a couple of scenarios that may have happened.
- The payer could have received and processed your claim but failed to send back an acknowledgement.
- There may have been a disconnect between the payer and the payers clearinghouse which made the transmission fail. In this case, the payer may not be processing your claim.
You will want to verify that you have received payment for this claim or have received some indication from the payer that they have or are in the process of adjudicating your claim.
If you have received payment or have heard back from the payer about this claim
You can simply click the Ignore Error button at the top of the EDI rejection page in Therabill. This will make the error message go away.
If you have not received payment or have not heard back from the payer about this claim.
Click the Resubmit Electronically button at the top of the EDI rejection page to resubmit this claim to the payer.
