The payer mentions that something that you have entered about the referring provider is not valid. Since the referring providers address and phone does not go out on claims, you may want to look at the referring provider name and NPI. Make sure you have it entered correctly.
The best place to edit referring provider
The best place to edit the referring provider is by putting your mouse over Providers in the top navigation bar of Therabill and then clicking on Referring Providers in the drop down list. You will now see a list of all of your referring providers. Find the referring provider and click the edit icon associated with the referring provider.
- Name: Make sure that you have the name entered correctly. There should be a first and last name. If the referring physician is an organization then enter the organization name in the last name and leave the first name blank. Keep in mind that many payers do not allow the referring physician to be an organization.
- NPI: Make sure you have the NPI entered correctly and it is valid. This could be what they are referring to when they say "ID" in their rejection message.
