RxNT is an EMR system with e-prescribing.
This integration will send patient information from Therabill to RxNT. When you enter a new patient in Therabill, the patient information will be sent to RxNT in HL7 standard format. When you edit a patient in Therabill, the patient information will again be sent to RxNT for updating. The directionality in this integration is from Therabill to RxNT. This means that patients entered in RxNT are not sent to Therabill.
You must have a Therabill account and an account with RxNT. To set up the integration you will need to get a bit of information from RxNT. You will need to get your clinic ID and clinic name from RxNT. The clinic ID is very important. The clinic ID is what will be put in the MSH segment of the HL7 file to identify your account when RxNT reads the HL7 file.
Create the integration
In Therabill, put your mouse over Admin in the top green navigation bar. In the drop down menu that appears, put your mouse over Defaults & Settings, and then in the sub-menu that appears, click on Integrations. You will now be at the integrations page. Within the list of third party integration partners, look for the one labeled RxNT (see image below).
If you have not already set up an integration with RxNT, then you will see a link on the right of the RxNT listing labeled Set Up (see image above, circled in red). Click that link to begin the set up. You will now see a form as shown in the image to the right. To set up the integration, enter the following information.
For this integration, you will need to get your clinic ID and clinic name from RxNT.
- Clinic ID: This is the most important parameter. Make sure you do not type this one in incorrectly. This ID will be sent in the HL7 file to RxNT. They will then use the ID that you enter here to identify your RxNT account. If you mistype or enter this field incorrectly, RxNT will not be able to identify your account. Please get this clinic ID from RxNT. This is your account ID at RxNT (not your Therabill account number).
- Clinic Name: This will go in the HL7 file as your clinic name. It is best to enter it here in the same way that you have it entered in RxNT. Entering an incorrect clinic name here will not be detrimental to the integration. However, it may help RxNT find you if you do enter the wrong clinic ID (above).
Therabill allows you to indicate which rendering providers you have entered in Therabill that you would like this integration to work with. Remember, Therabill will be sending over patient files to RxNT. The only way that Therabill knows who the patient belongs to (as far as rendering provider/therapist) is if you enter a default provider for the patient under the Defaults tab on the add / edit client form.
- Limit to these providers: You will see a list of all of your therapists in Therabill. Put a check next to each therapist that you would like this integration to apply to.
When choosing providers, remember that Therabill only knows if the patient belongs to a provider if you enter a default provider for the patient under the Defaults tab on the add / edit client form. If you limit the integration to specific providers, then Therabill will only send over the patient information to RxNT if you enter one of the providers as the default provider on the add / edit client form. If you do not choose the provider listed as All providers/therapists then if you do not enter a default provider for the client under the defaults tab on the add / edit client form, then the patient information will not be sent. If you do check All providers/therapists then Therabill will send the patient information over for all providers, including patients where you do not indicate a default provider.
Saving the integration
Once you have entered the clinic ID and clinic Name and chosen your integration settings, click the Start Integration button at the bottom of the form. NOTE: If you are editing the integration, then the Start Integration button will be labeled Save Changes. Once you click the start integration button, the form will close and you will be back at the integrations list. The Set Up link will now be labled Edit (see image below, red circle). You can come back to this page in the future and click the edit link to change the settings.
What happens now?
Patient information goes over to RxNT in the HL7 standard format. This is done every time that you add a new patient or edit an existing patient. NOTE: Patient information does not go over to RxNT at the time that you start the integration. If you want to send a patient that you have already created over to RxNT, then you will need to go to the edit client form and save it (you can do this without even making any changes, just open up the edit client form and save).
