A little background
As you may already have found out, Therabill allows you to upload an image of your therapists / providers signatures (see: Entering provider's signature image). This signature will show up on your documentation after you finalize it (see: Finalize Note) or if the provider co-signs someone else's note. Adding your signature to a note (through finalization) is done using a note signature code (kind of like a PIN or a password) (see: where to get my note signature code) that is assigned to a provider automatically when a provider portal log in (see: log in to Therabill) is created for them.
Many Therabill members are using Therabill through their administrative log in (as opposed to a provider portal log in). For this reason, the administrative account also has a note signature code. The administrator can use this administrative note signature code to finalize notes or co-sign notes. However, when using the administrative account, Therabill may not know that the administrative user is also a therapist. For example, you may be a therapist and you created yourself as a provider (under Providers in Therabill). You even uploaded your note signature image to that therapist record. However, if you are using the administrative note signature code to finalize or co-sign your notes, then Therabill is not going to know to use the providers signature on the documentation. Therefore, if you are using your administrative note signature code to sign your notes, then you should either upload a note signature image for the administrative account or link the administrative signature to a provider signature.
Adding an Administrative Signature Image
Adding an image of your signature that will be used when a note is signed using the administrative note signature code is done under Admin in Therabill. Click Admin in the top green navigation bar of Therabill to go to your Member info. You will now see a page similar to the page shown in the image above. Located to the right of the Member Info page, you will see a small section labeled Account Signature Image. To upload a signature image to be used for the administrative account, make sure that the Use (see image above, red arrow) drop down menu is set to Upload Signature Image and then click the current signature image (this may be set to Click to upload signature, if you have never upload an administrative signature image before). This will open up the signature image tool. For instructions on using the signature image tool to upload your signature image in to Therabill, please see: upload signature.
Link Administrative Account to a Provider / Therapist in Therabill
It may be that you just want to use one of the signatures that you have already uploaded for one of your therapists (under Providers in Therabill). You can tell Therabill to do this by linking that provider to the administrative account. This is basically telling Therabill that whenever a note is finalized or co-signed using the administrative account, that the signature image for this provider should be used as the note signature on the printed note.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is not meant to allow you to sign notes for your therapists. That is, you can't change the provider your account is linked to and go sign their notes and then switch the linked to provider and go sign their notes. When you change the provider that your account is linked to, it will change the signature that is printed on all notes that were signed using the administrative note signature code.
All you have to do to link the administrative signature to a providers signature is change the Use drop down men (see image above, red arrow) to the provider that you want to link to. The link is made automatically (upon changing the drop down), you do not not need to click a save button.
