The short answer is No. Using any billing software, such as Therabill, does not change the way the insurance company pays you. If the insurance company has always paid you by sending you a check in the mail, then they will continue to send you a check in the mail. If you have previously set up with the insurance company for them to deposit funds directly in to your bank account (i.e. electronic funds transfer EFT) then they will continue to electronically deposit funds into your bank account.
If you have never billed the insurance company before, then most likely they will be sending you a check in the mail along with a copy of the Explanation of Benefits (or Payer Claim Summary).
Can I have the insurance company electronically deposit payments in my bank account?
Most insurance companies are capable of doing this. This is known as Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). EFT is something you would need to set up with the insurance company. Therabill cannot make arrangements for the insurance company to deposit funds into your bank account on your behalf. The insurance company will require that you set that up. You can call the insurance company (phone number is usually listed on the clients insurance card) to ask them how to get set up with Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
