If you are using authorization watch in Therabill to track your insurance authorizations, you may notice that the authorization does not show in Box 23 when you preview the claim. This is because Therabill attaches the authorization at the time the claim is submitted. For this reason, at this time, Therabill cannot put the authorization in Box 23 on the claim preview. Once you submit the claim (either paper or electronically), Therabill will attach the authorization and it will show up in Box 23.
I submitted the claim, and it still did not show up on Box 23
Here are some things to check if you submitted the claim (not a claim preview), and the authorization did not show up in Box 23 of the CMS-1500 claim form. The first thing you will want to do is cancel the claim that you created. You will want to cancel the claim as soon as possible. - Are you submitting to the insurance company that is associated with the authorization. The authorizations are associated with an insurance company. The authorization will only attach to a claim that is being sent to the insurance company that the authorization is associated with.
