Therabill offers two printing formats when printing a client balance statement. These two statement formats are the Invoice format and the Report format. While report format can be and is used by many as an invoice for patients, it is called report format because it is not set up with a remit stub, it does not have the ability to include a credit card remit form, and it is not automatically saved to your client statement filing cabinet. Below you will find brief descriptions of the two different formats.
The invoice format, when printed, has the top portion formatted as a remittance stub. This remittance stub fits to 3.5 inch (from the top) perforated paper and the dashed tear off line should fall on the perforation when the statement is printed without any scaling or margins (in your print dialog make sure fit to page is not selected). The invoice format has the balance due, the invoice date, and the invoice number printed at the top right of the remittance stub portion of the statement. You also have the option to include a remit by credit card section on the remittance stub portion of the invoice formatted statement. This can be turned on under the Settings for the client statements (click the settings link at the top right of the client statements page).
When you print to invoice format, the statement is automatically saved to your client statements filing page. Therefore, there is no need to perform a Save to Filing when printing to invoice format.
The report format is used by many Therabill members as an invoice. However, its format is not set up with some of the features of the invoice format. For example, the top section is not set up as a remittance stub. You do not have the option to include a pay by credit card remittance form on the report style format. In addition, when printing to report format, the statement is not automatically saved to your client statement filing cabinet. In order to save a statement that you printed using report formatting to your client statements page, you will need to click the Save to Filing button after the statement is created.
