This post will describe two new settings that were added to the client statements and four updates made to the client statements.
UPDATE: Balance Forward
When you are creating a client statement, if you enter a beginning date range, then Therabill will now calculate a "Balance Forward". The balance forward is the sum of all session balances on sessions with date of service prior to your begin date range. The balance forward is displayed above the session list on the client statement and is also added to the statement balance. A setting has also be implemented that allows you to turn this off (see Setting below).
UPDATE: Unselected Charges are Faded
On the client statement page, when you uncheck a session (to indicate that you do not want that session to show up on the client statement) then the session line becomes opaque. This helps visualize which sessions will be on the statement.
UPDATE: Location code for session lines
Each session line on the statement now has a "Loc" column. A numeric code is inserted into this column to indicate the service facility address that the session took place at. A legend is given at the bottom of the client statement to map the numeric code to an address. Your patient may need this information if they want to get reimbursed by insurance.
UPDATE: Medical Record Number
The clients Medical Record Number is now displayed within the Patient Information at the top right of the client statement.
SETTING: Group By Status
This setting is turned on by default. To turn it off, click Settings at the top right of the client statements page and check No next to Group charges by status within the settings form.
This new setting causes the session on the statement to be grouped by Finalized Charges and charges that are Pending Insurance. Finalized charges are sessions that you have either closed or have marked as bill to client. Pending insurance sessions are sessions that are still open.
This new setting allows you to only bill the client for sessions that have already gone through the insurance process. That is, you only want to tell the patient that they owe money on a session after all payments (or adjustments) are received from their insurance company. Only balances due on sessions that are "Finalized" will be added to the client statement balance.
To fully utilize this new setting, make sure that when you are done billing insurance that you enter all payments and adjustments and then close the session. You will also want to turn of the client statement setting to Add Write Off to Adjustment Amount, otherwise, all closed session will have a write-off and appear as if there is no balance due.
When the Group By Status setting is turned on, the client statement will show two group of sessions. The first group are labeled as "Finalized Charges" and the second group are labeled as "Pending Insurance". Again, only the balance due on the finalized sessions is added to the balance due on the statement.
SETTING: Hide Balance Forward
See Update above about "Balance Forward". If you do not want to show a balance forward on the statement, this setting will allow you to turn it off.
